The Future

We love forest, especially forest that is flourishing and

blooming with biodiversity. In our minds there is no sane

or rational justification for the destruction of this cradle

and repository of life.We want to see earths forests

protected, restored and, if necessary, expanded. We are

biased toward preservation of forests for environmental,

physical, spiritual, scientific, economic and social reasons.

Human systems of organisation and production are the result of a philosophy that wants the market

(trade in goods and services) to shape society and our physical environment.

This view of the society and the natural world has consistently failed to acknowledge physical limitations

of the ecological systems that enabled our species to evolve and thrive on this planet.

This failure to understand and adequately protect these systems has resulted in unprecedented rates of

extinctionand a threat of extinction to countless species of plants, animals and insects.

Clearfelling, whether it be in

plantations or native forests reveals

ignorance of the importance of

natural systems.

This may or may not affect the quality

of life for existing humans but it will

certainly havea profound effect on

every generation to follow.

The time frame for us to succeed in our

mission to have the importance of

natural systems recognised is limited.

Every day human activity is pushing

the environment to a point where

the breakdown of these natural

systems threatens to become

self-perpetuating.
